Re: Nautikos

And a very interesting comment, and I thank you for the thumb(s) up! Afor vorticial movement, consider the center of a vortex; l have heard there can be a stillness, a calm... Perhaps this poem invites one to explore the pathway to that state of mind? Or not. LOL! Several people came to mind while composing this one; it is a thought amalgamation of sorts.

RP

A  very interesting poem that has a compelling, almost vorticial movement to it, and at the same time invites exploration! One could dwell on this for quite a while and discover things within oneself...

Ahh, but then you would be a ... LOL... In the mirror, I can only stand to look - well, not in toto, only a segment at a time! :)

Re: Katray2

Thank you, and I quite agree with you about those special, stand-alone memories that are so outstanding they are like gifts. This is a poem more about reflections and realities melding with yesterdays, and how we viewed them then. Hmm, have I started another one...? Mirrors in this one are mirrors of the mind, in our mind. Time travel is a fascinating thought, and I wonder...

Lovely, lovely, RP!

There are those special, rare memories which continue living well and strong and oft are enhanced by the present; my experience...:) Mirrors fascinate me because they are a mode of time travel, something your poem reminds me of.

RPresta

Oh how you can concentrate with your mind and bring out a focus on time that emanates the Hubble telescope. What a marvelous mind you have.

Re: C_C_T

And here I thought you didn't like it. Thank you for the nice compliment. And, you are the master of the tricky endings, without a doubt!

The trouble is I am or always wanted to be trick cyclist. So I am going to pick some daisies and make you a daisy chain as your reward. Seriously though  thought it was brill. I would have liked to have written it myself.

Re: Kabu

You understand, S. Sister! If we look into the Mirror of Time, we must be prepared for what we see to not be there when we step away!

Re: C_C_T

I added a word at the end. Perhaps this makes it a bit clearer.

You have nailed it!

There is so much truth in this. If one wants to look back just take out the mind pictures of the really happy times. Besides living a life of looking back is not thinking forward and tomorrow is always exciting.

best to march forward in time but nice to have the old memories time past

Our senses can play a lot of tricks on us. It is something as simple as watching a movie. I will remember the setting a particular way, and then when I see the movie years later, I will have seen that it was not the way I remembered it.
