I was taught the body is a temple; a personal temple. Concurrently, I was taught there are buildings that are sacred places called temples, where people worship in the manner which they choose. Kinda the same thing, but different, as my mom would say!

I always admired the way temples were designed in India,

and the onion shaped towers which I associate with Russian architecture. Certain libraries carry the "temple" feeling - particularly those funded by Carnegie. Patrons enter through a high arch, go upstairs to be admitted to the stacks, and one is expected to be respectful and quiet inside.
