Interesting on the wine prices. I don't do wine often (practically never anymore) because of the meds that I take. Wonder what would happen if I did away with the medicines and drank expensive wines all the time?

Interesting about the wine, but not surprising. The prices vary so. But your poem, it was beautiful, "...pain...cold as stars." Very nice, not the pain, the poem. LOL!

I can sometimes buy Australian wine that I like, less expensive here and better quality. Of course the frined of yours may have mixed up pounds and dollars in his mind. Pounds are always much more than dollars.
