It seems like every neighborhood has a Mary Parsons type. Reminds me of Gladys Kravitz on Bewitched.

Oh, my, I loved this post! Your vignette was so true-to-life. Reminded me of so many things from neighbors we had as a child. Well, all except for the head is Ms. Mary! Yikes! Quite an enjoyable read!

Of course times were hard in those days Taps, Well if it was the same as here, The pension was minimal, no free health care, if they were experiencing hard times and two animals to feed and she might have had a touch of dementia. Now you have made me feel sad. I suppose though that was your happiest and most fretful day.
