A lot of times, kids will take things at face value. I can still be that way, as, I tend to be direct & expect others to be as well. Though, try to be diplomatic. I realize not everyone is honest or logical. Which means, it's not always going to be what it seems.

I had a friend who described thinking "wall-to-wall" carpeting was just that: one wall to the other, carpeted!
My younger brother overheard my my mother telling my father that the washing machine needed oiled. He took the container of cooking oil and poured it into the washer. Told Mom her "oiled" it for her. He was 3.
