Re: RPresta

I guess garlic is nice if everyone partakes. Not really adviable if one is going courting. Yes some poems string along some are wretched. Your gran was a lovely character.

Re: Naut

Problem is what is good for one is usually not very attractive Naut. If it is it should be taken very wisely, that's feathering my nest.

My grandmother fried up those dandelion greens and with garlic and olive oil and I still remember the scent of her cooking - fantastic! Nice poem also, very nice.

Re: FS

Yes FS ir there were no cars you would probably be grooming horses. My Dad said to me never give up selling paraffin. It was about two shillings a gallon now it is £5 . 50 times more.

I have never had dandelion leaves...I have wondered many a time how things have turned out the way in which they have.

Re: Gather the dandelion blossoms, and make wine. I have never tried it,

Yes I have had dandelion wine  Pat, and runner bean wine ,cowslip, parsnip, orange ,grapefruit, rhubarb, all which probably included things I won't mention as most of it was made in red earthen pans in the coal sheds next door to the the privy. Oh and a rather repulsive beetroot wine.

Re: Kabu

I should not think our early ancestors grew cabbages, I wish years ago I had taken more notice of my old uncle he could make a snack out of little plants as we traipsed across meadows. I just looked for horse mushrooms.

Now and then we just have to give way to what we really want! Love this poem - always and still awed with the word power you own!

they are like a type of spinach; cooked. They are a bit bitter but an excellent form of vegetable.

Gather the dandelion blossoms, and make wine. I have never tried it,

but I hear it is good. The leaves are tender and edible until the blooms appear, and then they get bitter.
