Was our PM Trudeau at that debate by any chance? He would maybe learn something....

I have not heard of the Munk debates, so I thank you for reporting on them.  BUT,  I have heard of Mark Steyn,  a Brit who substitutes for Rush Limbaugh quite often on the radio.  I like him even better than Rush,  and that is a lot.  Mark is more intellectual,  and I would not want to debate against him.  But that would not be necessary,  because I agree with 99% of what he says.  Cheers

I do feel there is a shift going on. Sadly, it is not coming quick enough. Hopefully, something clicks in the minds of the masses.

I am just fascinated by the way the winning of these debates is determined! It doubly makes for an interesting debate. People do need to learn facts and it sounds like there were many presented.

Thank you for reporting on this, Naut. I'd never heard of the Munk

debate. Sounds like a mighty useful way to learn, especially in light of the well-informed and talented persons involved in the debate. May I also suggest the TED talks for brief and informative (and funny) talks - Google TED Talks to check this out. I don't suppose anyone with a lick of sense would want to welcome convicted rapist refugees to their country - which is complicated because nobody was tried or convicted. The whole idea of a religious custom that includes gaining favor with the god of love through inhuman cruelty boggles what's left of my feeble mind.

Everything is so ugly at times that most cannot or do not want to get there heads around it, So apathy is born. There is a a torch in a forest but the trees do not seem to burn. Politics is about power, one must appeal to the majority or fade away.
