I do believe those golden thingies are called acorns. We had a huge oak tree in our yard when we were growing up.

I am sorry you're saddled with an unpleasant neighbor! Cutting off that branch shouldn't even be an issue! My neighbour requested tt from me a few weeks ago - it was done immediately! (Luck would have it my tree guys were here already, but I would have called them in that day!) As to the teeth - I shudder at the cost...

Well usually here if a branch overhangs one is allowed to cut it back but should give the owner the offending branches. In other words chuck it over their fence. I suppose different laws apply. I have a hedge round my fence which blocks the view from traffic. I can't cut it because it belongs the the council. So when the the council men trim it yearly I offer a small inducement for them to really rip into it and clear the view also I dart out and trim it further when the have gone. I asked the dentist if it were her teeth which she would have crowned, She gave a little excited smile and said 5 @ £660 per tooth. I don't really fancy gum transplants although I expect they are no different from a lot of things, if one thinks about it. By the way I told the dentist I would wait until June I might be lucky and pop off by then. Knowing my luck I shall live to 100.

i agree dear friend. It sure puts the day into perspective. I have felt sad all day. Can't seem to throw it but I will.
