Re Rpresta:
No you see RPresta an apple does not breed true from seed. A tomato nearly always does.

Glad the boy got the job! The apple tree grows, and one never knows if the fruit will be sweet.

Re: Pat
Goodnes Pat I must wash my clothes more than anyone in England, I don't bother with ironing though. My brother has shown me how to hang shirts so they look as if they have been pressed, Well you are not likely to be taken in by a married man. I want to know how to tell if a woman is married if she is wearing gloves and dirty clothes..

How men manage once their woman's gone is often a mystery.
I tell myself I can always tell a married man if he's over 40 or 50 - because the married ones have neatly pressed shirts and their shirt-tails tucked in to khaki pants, and the widowers and bachelors are unkempt, in need of a haircut, wearing shapeless tee shirts from '70s rock bands that hang over saggy jeans with dirt ground into the knees...

I do not recall ever tasting anything unusual on a vegetable...A good use of wonderment at the end of your poem.
