Hilarious, as usual!  I didn't have any of those kind of jobs....I just did secretarial work.  My daughter worked from the time she entered high school in various waitress and then barkeep at a variety of interesting joints.  I thought it gave her great experience in handling every type of person, drunk or sober, at an early age.  Her first job was a the clubhouse by the pool/golf course at a country club right down the sreet and I thought it would be so innocent and simple - the stories she told me later about adventures in that place! LOL!

Re: Re:

your story reminded me of mine...and I have never been sorry I worked there. I was so carefully brought up when the men talked about my Boobs I had to ask the other workers what they meant. Now that is way too sheltered.

Re: Strat

It was special, Naut-- but I'm guessing driving a cab was pretty danged fun, too!

Re:

Absolutely, Kabu! I'm sure the truck stop was as special as my loony bin/place of employment.

Hilarious! I almost envy you for having had that experience, LOL. The closest I came to that was the week or so I worked as a soda jerk, and I can't for the life of me remember the name of the place. It was in the summer during my university days, and I soon switched to driving a cab - more interesting and also more lucrative...

I don't think you have really lived unless you worked in some sort of dive, classy place like this. Mine was Daisys and it was an all night truck stop. The truckers were great but back then the pubs and clubs closed before midnight and they didn't serve food. The huge place filled to capacity with extremely drunk characters from then until about 3.am. At least every third classy patron arrived with a full bladder...
