Re: Naut

We used to listen to Vera poor little conscripts it was such a brave song. All those were songs once Naut we had an old gramophone. We used to tease Dad when we played the Gypsy song. He once told us he was made a blood brother.

CCT

I love that interview with Rosemary! You even had me humming Vera Lynn's song, LOL. And to think Vera is almost as old as Rosemay...

I know one has to keep on top of them pat. Yes the little kids came with labels . Most had never seen a cow and thought milk just came out of bottles.

These days they sell grapes already bagged up, usually about 3#

and what single individual can eat three pounds of grapes before they go wonky. They don't freeze well - and I catch the produce guy giving me the evil eye if I try to separate out just half a bag.  I love the lines from the old songs.  (We've got a girl from London in the Center's story writing group - amazing what she remembers about the blitz and her older brothers (they were 5 and 7) along with a couple million other children being sent out of the high-risk area during the war.)

Re: Taps

I suppose we have to many sweet things these days. You Mum enjoyed the biscuits as a luxury no doubt. Well I like licking salty tears.

Re:

Yes I find at a certain age they are exceedingly sweet RP.  No I shall persevere and eat the biscuits if it kills me. Although I think the Blackbirds might just chip in.

It is wonderful how you have brought so many characters to life in your poems.

Please don't cry.  It makes me sad to see a grown man cry.
My Mother always loved those tins of biscuits.  I think of her when I see them at Walmart.
