es Pat I remember playing with mercury and a glob rolled down into the settee.
We seemed to do things that would be frowned upon now. Although each generation feels surprised by the last My Mum told me that as a girl she would pick sweet beans out of the cattle troughs.

reminds me of mama saying something wasn't worth a tinker's dam... You're right about the free-range chickens - these days the only flavor is in the spices. What is the mood when you think about the old days and old ways, but it's not nostalgia? (relief?)
