Re: Katray

I was trying to think of some replies I have had Kat. 'I have got to wash my hair.'

'It's too late now.' 'I'm in the family way.' 'I am not into that thing.' 'We could be friends.' . The famous one 'don't send me any more flowers.' You can't say I did not try.

Re:

Well Krisles I must confess that I felt sad only when I wrote this piece. One has to remain detached or the latent pain which we all have will affect one. I am so sorry that you have been ill. I know it has been an awful time for you. You have aways been above reproach.

Re:Rpresta

Well she just could not stop talking, not that I give much for her chances Morphine and steriods. As to the poem. Do you know RP I don't think logic comes into it.

Re: It's a fine line we walk between empathy and revulsion at times.

I guess so Pat I doubt if a lady would have shown me her legs in the past.

ChiffChaff

Take a shot of her morphine and you won't feel much about anything Bro.

It's a fine line we walk between empathy and revulsion at times.

You bring it home.  Thank you for the poetry. As always, it sets the wheels a'turning in that half-vast coggery of my mind.

I wonder what her response will be. My inclination is that it will be a no.

What a great description is "like disks of steel across the oiled repartees."
Poor little lady.  Does she have anyone taking care of her leg wounds on a daily basis?

Such a kind visit you paid to the lady. Not always a pleasant task, given the circumstances! You lit up the lady's life for today. Your poem was quite nice, reminded me of a guy deciding if he should indeed, take that step!

Your empathy is getting the best of you....why don't you use it but think of it in a different way.  You did a wonderful thing, patiently listening...and you helped her release just a little bit of discomfort and unhappiness by sharing the load of it with someone.  That's a good thing and a gift you have with your empathy....instead of letting it make you sad, look at it as like something negative you lifted off of her - but it belongs to her, you don't have to take it on for yourself; you are just a conduit that is able to take it from her and release it, get rid of it.  Every little bit helps when you hurt like she does.

I really thought the last verse was so very clever...well, of course, the whole thing was your usual excellent A+....but I would be quite depressed to get such a proposal, too much responsibility to take on when one is just being settled for.  Of course, there is no shortage of tortured souls, so you have plenty to choose from and your odds are probably better than Powerball!

the nurse in me longs to help your Lady. I refused to believe that I couldn't heal those ulcers on their legs and places. Got beaten sometimes.

Wonderful proposal.

Awesome proposal C C T! Let us know her reply..:)

A friendly visit with a sweet lady; her poor legs though. Feeling the pain of others is sometimes the inspiration for gratitude; just my thought.
