This year, this election, is like no other I have ever seen.  I can picture clearly the place, the day I voted for the very first time.  Absolutely nothing seems the same about anything in the whole process.

Re: Kabu,

You touch upon the crux of the matter: This season, voter turnout will make all the difference!

For a complete outsider who has always lived with a different Gov system and is happy with it, it seems like a mess to me. And when I think of the number of people who live in the USA. I am amazed at how few actually vote at all. All that fuss on TV all those rallys and the money spent and you add up how many votes that there are for all the candidates in any State it is so small.

Re: CCT,

As far as I can see, standing on my tippy-toes, is that there is that one candidate hammers at the real issues because more than anything, he wants life to be better for most of America. The others just really really want to be President of the US.

Re: Pat,

I'm glad she got the lecture, including the bit about how not voting affects the outcome, too. In fact, not voting supports the candidate one would have voted against.

Perhaps you could just hold your hand up Ciel . It does seem that fever is mounting. No good asking my opinion I think politicians are in it mainly for themselves.

It's good for us "girls" to be up to our necks in the process, if only to see what we do not like about it. Talking with my adorable brilliant granddaughter (she's 20 and runs a Journeys shoe store in some mall south of L.A.) a couple days ago. She said two things that grabbed me. The first was that her mother (long time ex of son Joe) intends to vote for the Krumpf, and the second was that she didn't think she'd bother to vote.  Yes, she got the short Powerpoint presentation on women's right to vote being less than 100 years old and the risk that if we don't use it we lose it...
