If I'm reading it right, what a twist at the end

A nice, flavorable ode

Re: Pat

I know Pat even Archie said this garden is a disgrace  but we have 4to 500 bulbs planted somewhere and one does not want to disturb them. Yes a woman's lot was really harsh if she did not marry it was a job to scrape a living and if she did it was a bit of a nightmare.

I suppose when all are in the same boat it just seems normal. War of course liberated woman partially and of course they added value to society.

The changes spring brings have started here, a day or two warm

enough to bring out the desire for pruning and digging and planning what to have the landscapers do about the mess in the back yard. I love the time travel your poems allow, the brief visits to the hardscrabble lives we tend to romanticize in the here and now.

Re:

I suppose you don't really know what will pop up in your garden RP. It will be quite interesting to watch out for little jewels among the weeds. Yes Uncle does fill in sometimes when I am in disgrace .

Re: CCT

Well Naut one could not mess around in those days when a young maiden appeared in first bloom one had to jump over a broom three times whilst holding her and if one did not collapse one was suitable.

CCT

Well, before you too disappear under the covers, let me tell you quickly that I enjoyed your tale of Uncle Albert's days of courtship tremendously...
