I suppose the adrenaline would kick in if there was a fire. Doctor Arthur said check the insurance before altering a window. Sadly it is the smoke that snuffs one out I suppose a fire door might help.

I like the notion of the lack of makeup being another kind of mask.
I suggest getting a few good bungees and a chainsaw, or perhaps replace that window with a hay-barn loft door. If you can't get the ladder out the window, you might have even more trouble getting yourself out the window. As for me, getting me out the window, onto and down the ladder would take longer than the house burning down.

No I'll call you a kitten. These phlox are perpetuals I am sure you have seen them in older gardens. Anyway I hope to post photos if they do well. No they are OK Kat. Well some off my relatives, well two but one went to Canada and it only needed two now there must be hundreds.

Well I am waiting for an estimate Pat. I really ought to suss it out more, but electric is quite expensive here and If I have to buy decent heaters ,I guess I am just going for the easiest way out.

The heating pipes repair-replacement is going to be a bugger of a problem, but at least won't burn your house down. Friends of mine had issues of leaks underneath the floor and ended up buying a forced-air furnace rather than endure the cost & mess. I hope your situation is easier and less expensive to fix.

Hope your furnace is repaired and back running asap. I never do flowering plants well indoors; they stop blooming and become rather sad looking no matter my efforts. I like the rhyming structure of this poem; may try it out sometime if you won't call me a copyKat...:) tis very amusing too! Most of us bloggers aren't easily offended..
