Ironically, I was the favorite child. I understood my mother--she had a terrible childhood. I took care of her and was there at the end.

No it is a cruel world for some Joe. I know you have endured much hurt and one is not always rewarded for sacrifice. Nevertheless such men as you are needed to balance the evil in the world.

Caro Cugino,
I write in English to you for I want all to know how I feel. This should NEVER have happened, not to you, nor to any child. There is no justification ever for any form of child abuse. You are to be applauded, for you are a survivor! Bless you.
