Nautikos

A great story and even greater story-telling.  Much enjoyed.  Cheers!

Well of course as you pointed out Naut it was a different scenario. I don't know what would have happened if you had been another young lady staggering up the gang plank.

No we don't want to go into that, you did well on both occasions, a pretty hard task for most I would imagine.

That makes sense as to why the experience on both ships was different in terms of your interaction with the crew...I often find in general, the second time is not as good as the first.

She had 2 strikes against her. Sometimes the 'gender equality' goes too far.

It's funny about work crews and gender bias - the whole "man's world"

notion of professionalism and capability. It's clear that cultural differences can also come into play - but I'm guessing this experience was more than enlightening for you (as evidenced by your clear analysis of it) and also a good one for the Japanese fishermen who may never have otherwise worked with or gotten to know a Canadian... I learned a lot from your series. Two thumbs up, Naut!

I get the feeling you couldn't warm to them in the same manner as on the Hakuwan; maybe just a different dynamic working there! Still, a great adventure to have experienced! And then what happened...
