Thanks for the comment CCT. Witches are indeed something to fear and quite real. Nothing to toy with. Yet there is literature these days that encourages precisely that, but that's an entirely different rant.
Of course many original fairytales were very frightening. But at they had morals so at least that's useful. :)

Well EJ a good write. I can't remember hearing many fairy tales. My parents were usually too exhausted to do much when we were children. My mother once told me she would never walk up a road where a funeral possession had been, it really scared her. The old folk in her village believed in witches and ghosts. We as children were easily frightened without any encouragement.
