To me the difference is like visiting different neighborhoods; some are nice; some are a bit more shoddy. Now choose one in which to live.

Nice to have a comparison to your first experience, if only to

make the first memory more positive by doing so.

Sadly the rough one looks like my ship would be. I think you may have had a Class one before Naut. Now if you had experienced this one first I wonder what would have been your reaction to Class one .

I have seen a fair amount of ships in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, and it always strikes me how some ships are in great shape while others are being severely neglected. I have seen the same with way smaller boats.

These are so interesting. Yes one can easily see the difference in the upkeep of the two. You have had an interesting life and I enjoy reading about your adventures.

Nautikos

I always notice the degree of care with which a workgroup has been functioning and approaching their tasks.  I mean, I guess I would probably think that habits like how ropes are stowed are a matter of the professionalism of the worker regardless of management so I would think the workers on that ship were probably not very good workers in the first place.  That would probably affect my whole experience...since I had something to compare it to.   And then, I would wonder which came first, the chicken or the egg, in terms of the whole relationship I had with them....all from sloppy rope coils.  But, it is such small things that relationships are built on...because it is of such things that we can relate to each other, because of shared values.

yes I see and it must have been really difficult on that second ship. The first one had challengers but it seems to me that it was the adventure of a life time.
