Re: I had the best snacking carrots while in England!
Well you must have strong teeth Ciel. I think your problem possibly is it is usually too hot. Also it is no use just planting seed in soil in pots it wants mixing with some good compost. I do like the finger carrots best, those round ones take up too much surface room if one is growing in an expensive mixture. I like the buckets used by bakers which are food safe.

Re:
Now RP. This could be a lesson in morals. The trouble here with carrots is that they get the carrot root fly. Now one can buy a resistant variety, but they somehow do not seem so nice. I plant early in pots and avoid the problem, well they are buckets really food safe plastic. This is a gardening site.

That reminds me, I have carrots in the refrigerator that need to be either snacked on, or cooked.

Hmm? Guess it could go either way with the girl, another day perhaps? Or not? As for the carrots, bring 'em on fresh and organic! Great poem.

Love fresh carrots too!
Your poem is real life experience for many, I imagine and well crafted.
Maybe she would have or will brighten another day back to the girlie who first caught your eye - from an eternal optimist..:)

I had the best snacking carrots while in England!
They have stumpy round ends instead of classic pointy ones, and they were the sweetest, least-woody carrots I've ever had. I am not sure what kind they are, but I found some seeds last summer for round-ended ones, and those were what I grew in my porch pots. They were not quite as good, though.

Now I'm feeling sadly nostalgic about the "road not taken" to
a sweet romantic encounter, but I'll get over it. I believe you're right about carrots being beneficial to one's eyesight...
