I bought a very cheap pay by the month sort of smart phone in australia to use while I was there. Doesn't work over here but that is Ok cos I don't need one here. I sit here with this aging 'puter on my lap and so far it does what I want.

I don't believe my kids ever owned a gerbil. We had Tuffy, a brindle mixed

shepherd, who became reverse-house trained and naturally my responsibility to clean up after. She was prone to running in hysterical circles whenever a siren or motorcycle went past the house, and would never walk on a leash. I don't know what kind of a B-word her mother was, but she never was right and lived to the age of 15. We also had Miss Kitty, who looked like the tri-color queenly cat on the Purina bag, a dignified lady who came to
us (we found her abandoned along the road at about 8 weeks of age) already litter box
trained. She was very protective of me and lived to be 19. I still miss her. I don't think a cute and cuddly gerbil would have lasted long with those two.

I just want to flop down and forget to charge all these gadgets . Why can't I just keep things in my mind, like I once did? I like the little gerbils a pity they cannot talk very well.

I went the other direction quite some time ago - I thought I'd get a tablet, but then decided on a smartphone, because I can't carry the tablet in my jeans pocket...And I'm sure the Gerbils are fun; the only problem for me is I'd have to carry them if I wanted to take them for a walk - my doggie can get around well enough on his own feet...
