Back home, we call that compromise
thing "Bobtailin'" -- it's a nasty little trick the SC legislature has been doing since reconstruction -- you tack on a little something to a bill that has nothing to with that bill -- because you know no one is going to read the damn thing until it's way too late.
Arrrghhhh.....we are long lost family, Kris-Sis -- I just know it...

You have the courage to say it all. As an aside, my ancestors had to go through their own private hells to be allowed to come to the U.S. legally. They endured humiliation; they worked at menial jobs and were insulted regularly until they were able to advance (thanks to the freedoms and opportunities offered here); they were happy to learn English and assimilate into the population as "'Mericans;" they served in this country's military honorably; and they proudly became citizens. I am just one, as are we all. I have much sympathy for any person or group who is suffering. I wish for peace and prosperity for all, but I am not a Chritmas card! I wish well to all. That's all the room I will use on your space. Thanks!

As so often, you're giving voice to much that is suppressed or glossed over by the cacaphony of media glib, not just in your country but in my Canada as well, and I say Amen to that...
