Michele got to try out the new coat I got her for Christmas on a whim....she said our house was frigid - it always was - 14' ceilings, north windows all along the outside wall downstairs, floor to ceiling (with minimal insulation!) and two gas log fireplaces down there that the wind usually sucks the heat straight up. I spent many a frigid morning sitting on the hearth waiting for the coffee to heat up, almost climbing in the f/p in the hearth room.....I love that house so much, but it was not designed for practicality in terms of heating!!!! I don't even want to think about the bill...the thermostat is at the top of an enclosed staircase..heat rises...it gets hot as Hades upstairs as it works to heat the lower Polar Zone. I keep remembering this everytime I wax nostalgic......

Sorry about that - at least it's a 'cool' haiku, LOL...What's more, it's telling me what's gonna happen here next...
