I read this last night about five minutes after you wrote it. At that time I couldn't deal with all the emotions. This morning waking to the covering of white snow and -7o weather here I felt sorry for you and your daughter having to deal with all of this in the cold of winter.

I keep either giving things away to my DIL or the Grandchildren and I always seem to bring something else over here. Special things that bring back happy memories or that belonged to my parents.

Yes a bit much to handle at one go. Memories surround objects even if one has forgotten them. Unless one is dealing upfront with a person, one cannot but help to feel immersed in the happy times as well as the bad ones.Anyway you have a daughter and grandchildren who love you so that is all that really matters and it could be worse.
