I think I've lost all interest in planting, digging, pruning, harvesting,

and all that. I no longer want to mess with landscaping this place. But sometimes I catch myself thinking of log cabins and living off the grid, cooking on a wood stove and chopping my own kindling. Funny thing is, when I lived that way as a kid, I couldn't escape fast enough...

Re:Kabu

I think Squirrels will dig them up, but during the first war folk died in Holland when they thought tulip bulbs were edible.

Re: RPresta

Yes but my helpmate will be eyeing them up for his little stall which against all odds he

runs against the authorities advice.I must take a photo of it when the flowers come in.

Re: Krisles

Tulips do get a disease we are advised to plant them after a frost or two. Perhaps the blight or rust whatever it is would be too virulent if it always remained mild. Yes one has to be careful a good many have belts and inserts.

Re:Taps

I would have liked to photograph the brave little chap who jumped three feet and got a result.

That's the trouble with mice--the reproduce too quickly, and reach the age of reproduction way too fast.

I love tulips!  Maybe it doesn't get cold enough here for them, is that the reason I don't see them here?  I also have always loved white mice, had one once.  Cute little poem. And, yes, you be careful digging around....don't pull anything you shouldn't !

don't over do the digging and preparing. I put my Tulips in before I went to Australia. That was a few new ones that I wanted. Spring will tell whether the little buggers ate them.Squirrels and Chipmunks!

This was a cute post for sure. I am in awe of your being able to write upbeat fun work when you have been working in the garden doing hard work. Be blessed my friend.
