I enjoyed the poem, the story, the chocolates (I wish), and Grampy eternally there!

Re: Pat

We do miss our fire, having been brought up to sit and make toast for tea time and play board games with little rosy faces. Yes I forgot older folk do not remember things, fortunately, although she did scribble little things to improve some of the poems. Some she could not get her mind round, but she liked her chocolates.

I am sure she enjoyed the poems you gave to her...I enjoy reading poems about one's grandparents.

I love this poem.  It reminds me so much of my Grandma who grew up in Mala Dobra, an old village in Bohemia.

I rrefuse to eat tripe, other wise your poem of the oldies is a wonder.

Good on you that you have insight enough to remember your lapses and make up for them, and good on your former teacher that she forgot them.  I like the poem, especially the line about grampy, doing as he pleases and rocking in front of the fire. Seems comforting somehow.
