LOL! Canada Geese live everywhere and make sure we know they're around! I can't help it - I like them! They're our gift to the world, and there are a lot of countries that have bestowed worse things on the world, LOL...

There are two lakes, maybe three, within a mile or two of my place,
attractive to the Canada geese, some of which winter here. At Leclaire Lake, when my kids were old enough to roam the neighborhood, the Parks Dept. used to turn the green light on at the bandstand gazebo, meaning the ice was safe for skating. It hasn't been turned on once since I returned 10 years ago... There's always open water for the ducks and geese.
