Insects of course Ciel. mixed with sawdust for those with a stronger constitution.
I must admit when I pull a young cabbage I hear it give a squeak. I think as one grows older that one becomes more sensitive and more aware of the process that eventually provides the lump of protein on one's plate.

I relate a bit. There's nothing wrong with beging vegan, many are for health reasons, like my mother. What is wrong is mocking those who aren't vegan. But hey, I just shake my head, shrug it off and move on. :)

Nature left to itself is cruel meat eaters are the top of the food chain.
I don't eat a lot of meat but I do eat meat and enjoy it. Of course Nautikos once told me that my meat comes from a tree and that helps. LOL. But seriously, people should let others alone. If yhey want to eat their way through a mountain of salad, go ahead, but don't put it onto me. or you or any of us...

Well said! Plus, what is their rationale for the fact that we, ourselves, are animals...and that animals eat other animals all over the planet? I totally agree with the need to assure we do something about the inhumane manner in which so much slaughtering is done. I'm not a big meat eater, and my granddaughter is a beginning vegetarian who I support wholeheartedly....but, I will never support this kind of nonsensical thinking, so hopefully she doesn't go there!
