Nothing seems to be expanding in Canada, we seem to be closing in on ourselves.

A plant expansion? Peanuts! How would you like geting a damn new INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT set up in your backyard? That's been on the stove for a number of years, resulting in the confiscation of huge areas just sitting around for now! The fight ain't over, but I know we're losing...

There is Industry creeping slowly out towards our place. I truly pray that I am dead before I see this little sanctuary destroyed.

Re: We've had some kerfuffels over this very tactic in the news
around here - mostly in St. Louis & suburbs. In fact when the State of Illinois built the University on 2600 acres of farmland next to our town (1960) they used eminent domain laws to take over a wealthy landowners horse ranch, which is now the central core of the school, around which sit the admin. building, the student center, the library and a classroom building. Still a sensitive issue in these parts.
