Re: Justi

They tied it in a grassy spot outside the little school where it chewed its grass cud all day and after school they either led it home or rode it, not much caring about the mud on the way home.  When it wasn't rainy/muddy they just walked to school.

I loved this post. I wondered about the cow eating all day and lots more. Interesting.

Delightful to read; I'm back in class. It was doubly hard for a "lefty" to learn; be it penmanship, handwriting, cursive, or... Oh, and yes, one more new term I had to learn; now it isn't typing we do, it's keyboarding!

TAPS

My handwriting seems to have been acceptable in grades 2 and 3, but apparently deteriorated after that...These days I 'printwrite' sort of, but only if I absolutely have to. Unfortunately my typing is lousy as well, LOL...

But a girl riding a cow to school? That really got my attention, and must have been quite the sight even in those days, LOL...

My Mother took such pride in her hand writing and it was beautiful. Even with Alzheimer

disease she could still sign her name perfectly.

My hand shakes so bad my signature is beginning to look like a bird walked ink across a page.

Writing longhand is an art form, and like any art, practice makes perfect.

Our mothers won prizes for their penmanship. Maybe if we thought we could win some little award, we'd get back to making a little penmanship art.  It'd be a shame to lose it entirely.

Perhaps you could get a print off from the computer I bought a disk once, one's writing was changed by print. Goodness I forget how it worked . You need some little thank you cards to initial.

I hardly handwrite anything these days. With my hand writing, that is for the best.
