I love needlework, even though I seldom do any myself anymore.

That is great how much you are into needlework. Sadly, it seems to be a dying art. People would rather throw away clothes than mend them.

Very interesting ,I suppose it is a job to sew and watch the television. Knitting maybe. I remember my mother telling me that she visited two old ladies once when she was a girl and they were immaculately dressed in pieces of cloth that must have eventually replaced the original. Probably gentry fallen from grace.

handing down the traditions, how lovely. if the girls learn to love the crafts and the work involved they will surely cherish inheriting precious pieces one day.

My sister was always the seamstress in our family and she makes wonderful bobbin lace. has become quite famous locally and won major prizes at shows. Me??? No I am not much good with the needle.
