Let me elaborate a bit about "the work of the devil".

1) there are basically just two morally opposed philosophies in the world,  in the universe:  service-to-self and service-to-other.  Popular shorthand for these is evil and good.

2) once you accept the existence of a metaphysical element of life,  the atheist dam breaks and you are flooded with a plentiful bounty of historical and organizational possibilities. Popular shorthand for this are all the religions.

3) with the metaphysical element accepted,  it is logical,  even necessary to hypothesize a most powerful  "good" entity,  and a most powerful "evil" entity,  who have risen to the top positions on both sides of the opposing philosophies.  Popular shorthand for these is God and Satan.

4) These entities would clash eternally and universally,  and they would certainly clash here on our planet.

5) Satan plays prominently in the Bible,  and somewhat in the Koran.  The portrayal of Satan in the Bible rings true to me,  the portrayal of Satan in the Koran smells like diversionary tactics to me.

6) There is a religion that worships Satan straight out,  Satanism,  but this is not his devious trademark style.

7) Islam is the most perfectly designed religion for hatred, prejudice, oppression,  slavery,  murder,  conquering,  etc.,  so Islam bears the burning brand Satan.

...... a rose by any other name,  is still a rose.  Satanic practices by any other name,  are still Satanic.

Thanks to both of you for your comments

Krisles--  you ask, would an Islamic scholar agree with my summary?  I don't see how there could be any dispute over the first three centuries of each religion. The difference is lke day and night.  The maps tell the story.  There were NO BATTLES fought by Christians then,  because they did not have any military tendencies.  They did not accumulate weapons or soldiers.  They avoided battle,  they either sacrificed themselves to the murdering enemy,  or they ran and hid.  They spread their faith far and wide by PEACEFUL methods,  giving the testimony of the message and life of Jesus.

Islamic scholars can distort and lie,  but they cannot deny the plague of spreading red battle dots on the video map, nor the millions of infidels killed and enslaved,  that it represents.  They cannot deny that they spread beyond Arabia,  to conquer and enslave as many other countries as they could.

Nautikos--  thanks for the good words.  If you are interested,  I can tell you how to put videos in your posts,  as TAPS was kind enough to tell me how.

Islam may or may not be "the work of the devil",  as I suspect it might be,  but it is most assuredly the most perfectly designed predatory religion ever,  for oppression,  slavery,  murder, etc.

First of all - sorry I haven't been around all that much, having been preoccupied with other things. Next, about this post and the previous ones  - well done! You're really doing an excellent, systematic job here, wheras I am usually just dipping my ladle into the pot and offer folks a few bites of this and that. I have the unfortunate professional tendency to pursue several strands of a theme at once when I go into 'lecture mode' which is virtually impossible in a venue such as this, and why I tend to avoid it, LOL...

You suggested earlier I should make more use of videos - and you're right! In the pastt I've shied away from it (call it snobbery if you wish, LOL) but I do recognize it's usfulness. Now my problem is that I don't know how to post them - I'm semi-literate at best when it comes to to that sort of thing, LOL. I know how to do photos, but I'm not sure how it works with videos...

One other brief remark - you speak of 'radical Islam.' I no longer do! In my view, that's speaking of a 'four-legged dog!' There are moderate Muslims, as well as really devout ones, but I totally with Erdogan (in this respect) that 'Islam is Islam', leaving the Shia-Sunni schism aside as well as the variety of fairly insignificant sects. Apart from that, in my view ther are important tactical advantages in really treating all of Islam as the 'radical' politico-religious doctrine it is. It might become an incentive for encouraging moderate Muslims to demand a 'reformation'...

And finally: it probably doesn't surprise you that I do not view Islam as the work of the devil - but I'm sure that's a point about which we can agree to disagree...

I find simple comparative  discussions like this to be the most helpful in understanding the differences in issues....and I appreciate your providing it on such a vital issue as this.  I pass this type of info along to others because I believe it is very important that we catch up as soon as possible in our understanding of this threat to our country and our childrens' future.  What I would really like to know, is would an Islamic scholar agree with your summary....or is there debate about this history and this is the Christian interpretation? I jut don't know if this is all resolved, everyone agrees, etc. or if Muslims would say that, no, this is not how it was for their first three centuries.
