I read something along the lines
that Trump is popular the same way that professional wrestling is popular -- blahsie blahsie willful suspension of disbelief...
I think the bottom line is we are an extremely annoyed electorate and anything not business as usual -- be it odious and obnoxious or straight out of dorm room bull session -- is going to get our attention and probably appeal to our lesser of two evils sense of political reasoning these days.
Or I may just be talking out of my butt...tequila is good medicine, indeed!
Have a groovin, wonderful Christmas, Kris-Sis!

I focused in on your stressing of the personal responsibility of everyone, for what happens to them, what happens around them, what happens in their society. Amen to that, sister, we are singin in the same choir, LOL

I have to admit that in the beginning....
I was very leary of the Donald.....but at least he saying what needs to be said. The PC Militia tries to burn anyone who won't toe the line. The millennials are wandering in a land far far away.....
I have to admit I have gone over to the "Don Side".......Jeb Bush be damned.....I am so sick of hearing Kasich telling me all he has done for Ohio.....Carley, I love ya and you'll be great in the Cabinet helping to get rid of the usless bloated departments......Rubio, your ass didn't show up to vote on one of the most bloated, anti-American spending bills that ORyan dumped on us.....and that leaves Cruz what a great running mate for Donald....probably the smartest Senator.....and a great VP for the Don.
I'm not nearly as concerned about who Donald offends as I am excited about the number of people that had dropped out because there was no "hope" (pardon the use of our militant President's word) that are now motivated....feeling a sense of purpose.

I fully understand your frustration over the very noticeable changes in our society, even though I also understand your friend's love of learning - learning seems to be intrinsically rewarding for human minds, at least for most of them, LOL. But it is also clear that Donald Trump has tapped into a reservoir of resentment over the glib, PC-driven, reality-denying media fare that pretends to offer the only morally correct view of the world - and maybe we will see a return to some sanity...People don't even seem to mind that he always makes these faces - I wish he'd tone that down...

Trump has turned the American political world upside down. I did not think his momentum would last this long. Hopefully, everyone who can vote does so during the primary season and the general election.
