Courage and kindness can be quite the powers on their own . For Eleweyna this passage and others would give a great deal of depth. But I am concerned with how it will effect Darach's personality mixture. His tyranny and sour attitude are essential to the story. Romance could make him too nice. On the other hand everybody has their redeeming qualities. And so on trudges the debate. For now, I cut to the chase and the draft for the novel continues. Once I begin typing it though, the details of their romance can be easily added. Also still tossing around the idea of a battle in a prologue. Hmmmm....
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the scene and hey, you still might find that someone special. :)

All my life I have searched for such a bride, but they all seemed to be eating cream buns and bulging in the wrong places, now I am too decrepit to raise a suitable army to snatch this desirable maiden from the evil clutches of whats his name. Actually it must have felt rather scary being offered as a kind of bribe. Possibly could make a story but I would endow the princess with hidden magic powers, she might need them.
