Ha, I never heard of whittee-whatever. How funny. Is whittee related to witty? Has that now evolved into gossip? Same concept, but different word lineage, I suppose.

The old women who live at Chouteau Village where Sis lives are continuously engaged in whittee-whatteing. Sis says she hates that (but she always repeats to me anything she hears). LOL

I don't ever remember hearing the word Naut. However I do vaguely remember when one rarely entered a shop unless one really wanted something. Some shop keepers were quite disdainful if one looked around and then walked out, in fact it took rather more courage than one would think. Later it seemed strange when the large stores opened and one could walk freely except for the obvious store detectives.

They have a big problem with window shopping, I see...I know Harry James, if a product he came to buy is out of stock, will not leave the store without buying something.

Sounds like any day at Walmart - it's ok to come in and walk the aisles
on a miserable weather day, but they jolly well want you to buy something while you're there, if only a candy bar.
