Nautikos-- excellent research and writing. There is a reform movement in Islam, but weak and splintered, the last I looked. And its leaders tend to get thrown off buildings and such other unpleasant things. I fear it will have to get much worse, before enough Muslims find the courage to fight back, for reform. At least there are some of us beating the Western drums, to help them with a bit of morale support.

I fear there is no more basic truism than KISS - Keep It Simple Sweetheart/Stupid. Actually, when I started typing that sentence, I wasn't thinking about Trump at all and how it applied to him, but that's really exactly what he does with his messaging and underlies its success.
But, back to where I started out here....I understand your desire, but many are already talking Muslims versus Islamists to differentiate the moderates versus the extremists .....that probably has a better chance of success (KISS), at least in the US than getting the profile of the whole religion changed....I fear that's getting too complicated. Islam, Islamists, Muslims - understand that your average American is really having to catch up on the learning curve here...... and the information/misinformation/hysteria mill is running at full tilt. I have to clean my TV screen off daily just because of all the residual BS! LOL! Seriously...it has to be workable is what I am saying (selling

This is a very good post. It is not surprising to me that the vote went this way. It is according to their religion. Those who would not kill one of another religion would not stop his brother from killing that one. I know you only go by facts but it is not fact that introduced this religion before 635. They will never come into the 21 century. They do not need to be in our countries. I fear there are those who will vote again for Obama, but even if they don't he could still be there if we are not careful. I don't think he was truly voted in last time. We need Cruz as president. He will clean up what can be cleaned up and put together what can of what time is left.
