Of course, Charlie is absolutely right about the violence perpetrated against peaceful Muslims, mosques, or related businesses, etc...or any hate-related actions. I agree with him completely that there is no excuse for violence by Americans, in America. Just as it's been horrible to see the way we've seen perfectly innocent policemen treated in some of these Black Lives Matter situations. And Chicago and other cities see regularly in some neighborhoods for perceived turf wars. Emotions get out of check...as we've seen for years in various confrontations where emotions have run very high and extremists have jumped in to vent their frustrations/anger/mental issues/whatever.
However, this particular issue has the potential to affect every single person in this country and we have all seen that there is absolutely no doubt...as the head of the FBI has confirmed...that we have real issues with the current systems that are in place - and the public does not even know for sure what all those systems are in every instance, to be having all these big arguments about it, and making grandiose statements, betting their own and their families' lives on it..... when every day we learn more details of the failure of the systems in place.
And yet the liberal media doesn't seem to want to give room for people to raise a discussion about concerns about this and a rational desire to find ways to DO SOMETHING about it as anything other than bigoted or wanting to put a big hate on all Muslims. Headlines are cut to read as inflammatory as possible, serious discussions are not reported. it's like you keep silent and we maintain the status quo....or if you speak up and want something done to protect us from ISIS, etc., infiltrating more and more easily....and 'radicalizing' more and more easily those already here....well, dang! you are a bigot!! And you hate all Muslims! There's just no good way to talk about solutions that it doesn't come back to that! I have not heard one single solution put forth by a liberal.....and that is not satisfactory.....criticizing Trump isn't a solution.
I find this ostrich approach irresponsible, negligent and offensive. Peaceful Muslims who don't believe that crap have had 14 years to 'sell' their version of Islam and they should have been out there doing it instead of sitting on their rugs letting this wholesale brainwashing happen. They knew exactly what has been happening in radical mosques, and in other countries.....those who don't agree with it had a responsibility to their religion. So, yes, they will face the goons that come out, now....and I hate that and will slap any upside the head I run into. but I would feel the same about extreme liberals wanting to shut up honest discussion about making us safer. All that said, I'm sorry for the post of an answer....but I didn't want to scare TAPS with another political post in my blog and so she won't see this since she's already been here! LOL! Anyway, Charlie did good!

Re: CCT,
It is heartening to see, scrolling through Facebook, a lot of voices against the insanity.

Re: TAPS,
I do understand, and enjoy having no TV, no daily paper, but it is encouraging to see that the terrible news is not the only news, even if the usual media don't report much but the terrible. I am glad to see a lot of sanity countering the insanity, kindness countering unkindness, generosity countering greed. Facebook is definitely where the non-media voices speak out.

I have pretty much been avoiding this place recently (as much as I enjoy it here) because of the increase of news and politics postings. So, this evening I decide to try it again just avoiding those writings on that subject. I see one can't avoid it, no matter what. They spring at you from every blog subject there is. I've probably even written about it myself.
