I just brought in my pot of sweet basil from the patio to my sun room. I've never had the jelly but I've often made a batch of simple syrup and used on fruit and in drinks. I don't eat a lot of spices but love, love, love basil!!

I love basil - it's one of the few things I grow in a pot all summer, although I have never enough...

Basil is one of the things that Son #3 grows for me in his garden. In the fall he brings me so much that I freeze it. I don't know whether freezing it does anything bad to it, but I use it all winter in everything I normally use it for when fresh.

I haven't but I do make jelly from it that I love. I like all sorts of ways so I am sure I would like the tea too, perhaps with a bit of lime in it.
