I remember that being an issue when professors would allow students to give them drafts to look over before the paper was due. They would hand in junk, hoping the professor would more or less write it for them.

Sounds like you got a bummer this time. I don't think he will get any better. That's probably just the way he is, and you don't need him in your life--maybe the money, but not him.
