I don't think of what you are discussing as violence, but as survival.....and I see that as the responsibility of all forms of life....well, that along with reproducing, arguably one and the same.  Any action necessary to defend oneself....or another...when faced with physical harm, must and should be taken.  Violence just as a concept to me is action for the sake of discharging anger or frustration or to get one's own way or to punish or just to cause pain.  Maybe I'm putting too fine a line on it....but I've known some violent people, and I'm not one; but, come after me or one of mine and I have no doubt I'd fire if I had a gun in my hand.

Yes, that is an excellent quote, absolutely prophetic to the disaster of unlimited 'tolerance' destroying our society now. The tolerance of intolerance, indeed. But it is a highly selective tolerance, and the most intolerant of all, mostly on the left with the big O, or BHO, as their champion, try to pass themselves off as the most tolerant.

I include the middle initial H, to remind us of his Muslim name 'Hussein'. After all, we addressed other presidents by all 3 initials, such as FDR, JFK, LBJ. Shouldn't we extend the same great honor to BHO??

I ABSOLUTELY and COMPLETELY agree with you! Yours is another voice of Reason, so often missing not just in public discourse (where it is often replaced by the voice of Insanity, LOL), but even here in Blogitville. I have often quoted Karl Popper here:

Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. (The Open Society and its Enemies, 1945)

And the corollary to that is, of course, the full justification for the use of violence against the violent...
