Serious legal things are not done by phone...period. That's all you need to remember and blow a whistle into the phone of the next call you get like that.

They also send postcards informing you that your new car warranty
is about to expire and you need to contact them or risk having to pay for repairs. Since my car is 11 years old, I know they're fishing, but their bait is lame.

I get similar crap occasionally, allegedly from our outfit. But the 'lawsuit' thing alone gives it away - the IRS would never file a lawsuit against you ...
