They did it with toilet paper and when no one complained they started with other products...one of my faves that I almost no longer buy - ice cream!

Re: Re: EJ

Ah, most informative.  :) New words are being added all the time. The evolution of language is fascinating.

Re: EJ

I'm afraid I didn't make it up.  It's been a word now for quite a few years.  It is in modern dictionaries.  But, yes, it is a witty combo word.

I have noticed that, too, with shrinkflation. It seems to be happening with all sorts of products these days.

Shrinkflation, hahahahaha! Good invention. :) Most of my made up words are more idiotic than humorous.

Amusing word, shrinkflation! One way of getting away from so much of it is to buy in farmers' markets, bulk barns, or at the butcher's store. Things are weighed in front of you, not prepackaged. And yes - the marketing people have us down pat - we complain but buy it anyway, and they know it.

My worry is if they're skimping on the size and "lying' about that,

what substitutions might they be making in the "pork" and "chicken" in the soup? We already know "all natural" is a meaningless marketing term.

Now the elves are packing.

Yes I was thinking the other day everything is shrinking ,just cut a little bit off and make the packaging the same size that's the way to do it as Mr Punch would say. Punch and Judy
