- Go to Mom's happiness...
Grrr - going through a similar thing here with my youngest son's lady - she's back to the poor little burnt-out me, and it's Daddy and the Rugrats paying for her princess antics AGAIN. And, as you say, Mom - because it's so hard to watch our children go through things like that. We need a pie hurling session!

What an awful situation for your family. I've seen a few situations like that, been involved in some. There's no way to help. The problem will out sooner or later. Hang in there. A hundred years from now no one will know the difference.

Maybe you can encourage him to attend a few alanon meetings.
Whatever her specific problem, it is not unlike addiction to alcohol or other substances. If she won't get help, he will need to know where his power to help begins and ends.

I do know women like this and they seem to have an uncanny sense of choosing , well it should be canny, an easy going partner. No easy answer Pat, I suppose one must accept the condition and be willing to fight to get better. It is a shame because they could be quite happy under normal circumstances. Once folk quarreled and swore at each other but had to get over it as long as it did not become unbearable.

Advice I have none - but both Guy and you have my sympathy! And your way of dealing with adversity sounds awfully familiar, LOL...
