Re: Re: Re: Adnohr

adnohr if one sleeps with a princess or just a friend there is not much difference. Well I never elaborated on the Myth, but occasionally distant relatives from USA and Canada come believing .Now I have found you a good deal on wood from a local supplier Kiln dried that must amount to something. One third of a cord roughly £135  what's that about  !80 dollars. No, well there is a cheaper supplier Hardwood  4 cubic meters rather more than a cord for the bargain price of £240  roughly $300 maybe a bit more I have not worked it out. An early order would be appreciated.

Re: Re: Adnohr

In the present time I do believe there are a good number of females out on the battlefields. Not sure sure they are princesses ...

Re: Adnohr

Yes adnohr we tend to remember the good things fortunately I did suss it all out once for a cousin in USA. I don't think one would have met a princess on the battle field ,what do you think.

Re: Krisles

My parents are buried on a hill  level with my bedrooms. It did comfort me when Mum died for some reason. I wanted to see this grave because it was steeped in the family history. I thought it might be a bit morbid as a stand alone poem.

Re: CCT

Thank you Naut as I said I had to explain why it was written.

Re: Sorry about the dahlias, but that's the seasonal reminder

Thank you Pat I thought I had to explain why I wrote the poem or it might have seemed morbid.

Re: Sorry about the dahlias, happy for Archie..

Yes it is all there Kat, if one can dig deep enough. The old Church records of course, and in the olden days folk did not move far, unless they emigrated.

Re: Maybe you could hire some kid who could use some holiday funds

We will soon dig some up Ciel and leave the rest to chance it. The forest has been diminishing for years now you did go through part of it. Remember this was after the Battle of Waterloo the Duke of Wellington gave the forebear the position of Keeper of the Forest. In those days poachers took the deer and later on one of his sons was killed in a night fracas with villains.

Maybe you could hire some kid who could use some holiday funds

to help you dig out those dahlias.

Next time I get to Oxford, I want to visit Wychwood. I saw it on the map, noted that there was a music festival going on, when I was in the area. Crowds and what passes for music these days--neither one appeal.

I like this poem, another one where your inner Mystic shows through!

Sorry about the dahlias, happy for Archie..

I've tramped through old cemeteries for ancestry reasons; fascinating stuff. Your poem is beautiful, C C T..

Sorry about the dahlias, but that's the seasonal reminder

that brought you to the lovely poem about the cemetary.  And that Archie passed the heart exam - always a good thing.

We received a frost the day before last, our first of the year...That warmth and the comfort coming from it has kept many people going.

I love, love this one, too.  I have always loved to wander around in cemeteries.  It's odd, but I've only been to my father's grave once.  But, I have visited my family cemetery, the one the 'pioneers' started and filled so much space in....and your poem echoes so much of what I felt....

I love this post.  I love searching through graveyards and through family history, and the poem is wonderful.  I'm glad your brother had good results with his test.
