I think my son had one of those little Datsuns, used it to run his rural

paper route when he was 17 or 18 - dropping off bundles to the newsboys' at their farmhouses. Very reliable vehicle. Amazing the guy could flip your car right side up and iron out the wrinkles. I love guys who can fix things.

I went back to read the whole story. It happened to me once, while driving my Cherokee Jeep - ended upside down in the snowbank, down a hill, but mine actually was caused by black ice. I can remember being highly agitated too. My mom, who was alive at the time, gave me a couple of her little happy pills, which did the trick like your wine, and I slept for 3 days, LOL! It's when we think about it that we realize how quickly it happens - how lucky we are to be talking about it.....

You were lucky indeed.

Interesting Naut, I suppose there could have been a thin layer of ice that melted afterwards. Perhaps though the monotony of the white snow mesmerized you and you

slipped into a snow trance. We shall never know.

There have been times when I did things where I made up why they occurred because I did not want people to know the real reason as well...I would have been wired for a long time after that, too.

I enjoyed the story, most of all the joy of knowing the Lord kept you from getting a scratch, your car in good condition and I will thank him for you.

Nautikos

Now that is truly a story of "All's well, that end's well!"  Did you keep any of those interesting writings you did?  It is funny how adrenelin lingers after such an event, and how it seems to sear the memories into our storage banks.  I had to chuckle as you talked about the tow truck drivers....I guess it's the same everywhere, motorized vultures at times - no offense intended....like the feathered type, a necessary highway feature!
