Because I'm sitting here in a motel room after having driven through virtually incessant rain for eleven hours, what appealed to me most was that you at least experienced a bright and warm day...

Nah; let them treat you. House cleaning??? if all those kids were going to be there, it would be all messed up real quick anyway.
Be careful that peg woman doesn't draw you in again. You are too nice to too many people. Get well soon. Once you feel better, you will be writing again I am betting.
