Godd for you for giving up all the smokes! As a chronically ill lunger

who almost died in 2014 from pneumonia and is looking at a transplant as my only survival option past 2 or 3 more years, I commend you for acting in the best interest of your health. I only drink a glass of wine and/or maybe a fancy, fruity mixed drink maybe once a month when I go out to dinner at a restaurant that isn't fast food, lol, so I can't offer much of an opinion on alcohol consumption. I  can relate to the overly busy mind; I take a low dose of Prozac and try to do yoga to calm mine. They help. Writing really is a balm also; keep on doing so..

A novelette of mine became a short film musical in college love.

Well K everyone used to smoke tobacco in the old days. It is pretty awful to give up as you know. It is the same with all things that give a false feeling of comfort. To wake and feel life is not worth living without using some kind of stimulant is horrible. Do try and see if writing is any help, you have had so many experiences and sometimes a new stimulus will soothe.

Legalize it and tax it the same as cigarettes and alcohol. Even make people pay for a licence to grow their own. Then there will be money to destroy the drug Barons...what do I know. I can't drink more than a glass and a half of wine without throwing up and I will never have anothe cigarette or I would be back smoking all day every day, and I never tried any recreational drugs.

I myself am not a drinker nor a user of any drug. Those I know who have smoked pot for years would agree the quality of it is not as good as it was decades ago.

As far as legalization, I do feel recreational pot use should be legalized. However, I say that knowing that it is not going to be a cure all.
