I hope you don't thumb a lift from people you don't know. It's not safe they say, though I don't know from personal experience.

I don't know about that. The only thing she complains about being sick of is Republicans. She is dyed-in-the-wool Democrat and complains a lot about the political stuff here in US.

I do too. She has totaled at least three cars in her lifetime without being injured badly, or injuring another badly. How lucky can one person be?

Re: Naut
I don't picture you giving in to social pressures too often--just maybe now and then for your wife and family. I'll bet you can do it up right when the occasion calls for it.

I have known some giver-uppers. My sons' dad was one of those after he had his stroke. He wouldn't even try to make a comeback. But, then, maybe I wouldn't have either under the same set of circumstances.

It is great to go outside and experience nature. There is so much to see and so much that can and will inspire us.
Like you, I do not wear shoes inside.

In the house I am barefoot, and only social pressure and silly rules ("No shoes, no shirt, no service") and yes, plunging temps this time of year make me put on shoes. But it's important to walk a lot either way, and I commend you for doing it and for your delightful descriptions...:) (No flower tonight - phone)

same age as me and fighting just as hard as me, for it not to have happened. I wonder if she is as sick of the second world war as what I am. Every decade of our lives there has been celebrations and remember when to remind us of our age.
OK the War ended 70 years ago...Get over it!!LOL

You were lucky, speed kills. I'll cross her off my list of folk I'll thumb a lift from.
You are in good fettle today, suddenly everyone is writing ten times more than normal and newcomers or oldies are joining the party. So I will not say much and be like the wise old owl.
