We share a love of driving and road trips....and the selection of music to take is always an important part of my travel plans, as well.  I especially like Panis Angelicus out of your list and I have a play list I use at work for this particular task that actually has it by Renee Fleming, Charlotte Church, Bocelli, Pavarotti and some monk whose name I can't remember ....also, Ave Maria by several of those same people....and Don't Cry for Me Argentina and The Music of the Night by Sarah Brightman.....and Bolero....and a bunch of Spanish guitar music.  I'll have to try it for my next road trip.

Oh such lovely music is meant for traveling alone, never interrupt such with just talking. George might wait on the roadside hoping for a ride with you. Me I need a lot of silence breaks.

I cannot even imagine this life without good music.  What a wonderful thing it is.  And, yes, I have noticed it goes well with long distance driving.

Wow, I am amazed at the information you can write into a blog, a humbling experience to read you old chap. Of course it's a lovely change from all the Muslim diatribe that never clears up or goes away. I'm happy the Russians are going after ISIS now for a change. All I can bring with me in the car when I drive is Willie Nelson and you know all about him.

My kind of music 'cept I would have added some Simon and Garfunkel and Queen.

I believe I wrote about the Pavarotti concert I attended...rang my sister after and told her I can die now.

Oh and the Gypsy King Concert and dancing in the aisles.

I like to have the radio - either talk or jazz - going in the car, and you're right. Those really long road trips open the mind to philosophy and poetic appreciation of the world. Saw a news feature on taking selfies while doing karaoke while driving - which seemed to me like a good way to refine the gene pool, or it would be if the wacko doing this didn't take others along as they cross the line.
